Robert W. Jacobs

Mr. Robert W. Jacobs passed away on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at McLaren Bay Region. Age 87 years. The son of the late Peter and Cornelia (VanHurk) Jacobs was born July 18, 1929 in Essexville, Michigan. Mr. Jacobs worked for Defoe Shipbuilding Company and then for Associated Heating and Cooling for over 20 years. He enjoyed gardening, playing solitaire, country music, talking and telling stories.
He married the former Louise B. Wolkens on August 20, 1960 and they shared 54 years together before her death in June of 2015.  Mr. Jacobs is survived by five children, Robert Brown, Theodore Brown, Roberta Wallace, Howard (Crystal) Jacobs and Connie Bennett; fifteen grandchildren; several great grandchildren; very special family friend, Becky Stark; special buddy, Peppie and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by four brothers, Louis, Walter, Howard and Bruce; five sisters, Marie, Myrtle, Mary Jane, Leona and Betty; one daughter, Bernice Jacobs and one son-in-law, Leroy Bennett.
At the request of Mr. Jacobs cremation has taken place, and there will be no visiting or services at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Private Inurnment will take place at a later date at Floral Gardens Cemetery.
