Robert Charles Kemmer

Mr. Robert C. Kemmer, 96, of Bay City, passed away peacefully Thursday, April 2, 2020 at Bay Medical Care Facility. The son of the late Charles and India (Johnson) Kemmer, he was born May 12, 1923 in Midland, Michigan. Bob graduated from Midland High School, and proudly served in the US Army Air Corps from 1942 until 1946. He married the former Dorothy Mae Stegman on August 7, 1943. She predeceased him in November, 2015. Bob was a graduate of Central Michigan University and worked at Saginaw Steering Gear as an Engineer from 1952 until retiring in 1979. He enjoyed taking rides with Dorothy, vacationing at their cottage in Interlochen, hunting and fishing with his sons and their friends, carving, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Left behind to cherish his memory are two sons, Kirk (Nancy) Kemmer, Bruce (Carol) Kemmer, his grandchildren; Kristen (Brandon) Geyer, Sarah Kemmer, Ashley (Bruce) Harvey and Jason (Heather) Sayen, two great grandchildren; London Harvey and Olivia Sayen. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his sister Lorainne O'Meara and his brother Keith Kemmer. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the staff at the Bay Medical Care Facility for their unwavering compassion and care.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held after the COVID-19 restrictions for social gatherings are lifted.
