Robert John Lang

On Friday, March 7, 2025 the Lord called Robert John Lang to his heavenly home from Select Specialty Hospital in Saginaw, Michigan. He was born in Bay City, Michigan on November 21, 1957 to his parents, Edward and Marrie J. (Carr) Lang.

Robert graduated from Pinconning High School in 1976. He worked his early years at the B.P. gas station that had been at the corner of Wilder Road and Euclid Avenue. There he met many wonderful and fascinating people who helped him develop his gift of “story telling” that he freely shared with anyone who would listen. He also attended Delta College where he studied heating, ventilation and air conditioning. He used those skills to work at the Pinconning and Alpena schools, until he finally hired into the mechanical maintenance department at Delta College where he worked until his heart attack. It was there he met and worked with Tim Cross for 15 years. Even after Robert’s disability, Tim and Robert’s bond of friendship remained strong throughout the remainder of Rob’s life. He loved spending time with his boys (dogs) Zeus and Pluto, being with family, music (Guitar Center), Amazon, as well as many other interests and hobbies too numerous to list.

Robert is survived by his daughter, Krysta Kay Lang of Bay City; one sister, Marie (Lang-Anderson) Yax of Bay City; children, Melinda (Jon) Noel, Margaret (Brad) Jatczak, Elizabeth Benford, Hannah Benford, Faith Hales; brother-in-law, Jeffery Leavesley of Alpena; children, Donald Duggar, Jason Duggar, Catheryn Duggar, Carolyn Quinn, Timothy Duggar, Jacob (Heather) Duggar, Carrlyssa Whitington. He is also survived by one brother, Daniel Edward Lang of Ohio; children, Vanessa (Chuck) Perry, Ingrid (Lego) Legros, Adam Lang and Abel Lang; as well as many great nieces and nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Edward James Lang and his sister, Patricia Lang-Leavesly.
