Robert J. McDonell

Mr. McDonell passed away on Friday, January 25, 2019 at Brian's House. Age 80 years. The son of the late John A. and Rose Alma (Simpson) McDonell was born April 13, 1938 in Bay City, Michigan. Mr. McDonell was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish (St. Stanislaus Kostka Church) and was retired as a teacher from the Carrollton Public Schools. Mr. McDonell enjoyed golfing, playing cards, reading and wintering in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida. Mr. McDonell was a member of the Legion of Mary, Saginaw Owosso Elks #47 and the K of C Council #3590.

Mr. McDonell is survived by his wife of 52 years the former Irene J. Supak whom he married on June 11, 1966; sister-in-law, Mary Carolyn McDonell; nieces and nephews, Kelli McDonell, Julie (Brian) Dunckley, Carrie McDonell, Craig (Kelli) McDonell, Dan (Cathy) McDonell, Jim (Lisa) McDonell and Rob (Kristin) McDonell and several great nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his brother John K. McDonell and his Godson, Jack Jr. McDonell.

Funeral Liturgy and Rite of Committal will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish (St. Stanislaus Kostka Church). Celebrant will be Rev. Fr. Richard M. Filary with private entombment following in Chapel Hill Mausoleum. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. the Vigil for the Deceased will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening. Mr. McDonell will be taken to the church to lie in state on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. Memorial cards for Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish, Brian's House or the donor's favorite charity will be available at the funeral home.
