Robert G. Milka

Robert passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at his residence with his family by his side at the age of 79 years. Robert was born in Bay City on December 11, 1941 to the late Arthur and Evelyn (Balwinski) Milka. On November 30, 1963 he married the former Judith L. Beaver in Bay City; she preceded him in death after 56 years of marriage on July 19, 2020. He worked and retired on May 1, 2004 from General Motors Grey Iron/Metal Casting after 42.6 years. Robert enjoyed going to the casino with his wife, camping at Clear Lake State Park in Atlanta, Michigan, watching NASCAR and the Detroit Tigers. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends.
Robert is survived by his, children, John (Cynthia) Milka, Anne Kehoe, Edwina, Robert C. and James Milka; grandchildren, Rachel, Nicholas and Claire; sister, Audrey Milka; sisters-in-law, Patricia (Jose) Cocco-Valdez, Gloria Bratu-Beaver, Sally Beaver and Shirley Milka; special friends, Donna, Anna Marie, Dianne and Gary Smith and many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his wife and parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Arthur Milka; baby sister, Madelyn; brothers-in-law, Robert "Sam" and Charles Beaver.
Funeral service will take place at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. with cremation to take place following the service. Officiating will be Rev. Fr. Gerald Balwinski. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. We are currently still under the governor's executive order of social distancing and limited to 25 visitors in the chapel at one time.
