Robert L. Story

Story, Robert L. Bay City, Michigan Mr. Story passed away October 16, 2010. Age 78 years. He was born February 14, 1932 in Owosso, Michigan to the late John and Rachel (Brown) Story. Bob graduated from Owosso High School in 1950. He attended CMU where he received a BA in music and a MA in administration. He taught school in Pigeon, Bangor Township and All Saints. He was the owner and operator of the former Sheet Music Co. inside Herter Music Center. He is a former director of Bay City Concert Band. He is a member of First United Methodist Church where he served as a choir director. Mr. Story is survived by his wife of 49 years, Karen (Damm), two daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Chris Hebert, Anne and Michael Hammond and one son, Michael R. Story; five grandchildren Mallory, Samantha and Victoria Hebert; Sean and Kathleen Hammond. Robert is also survived by two brothers and sisters-in-law; Mick and Kae Story and Ed and Shirley Story. At the request of Mr. Story, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 22, 2010 at First United Methodist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Anthony N. Cutting with private entombment in Floral Gardens Mausoleum. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Wednesday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. and until the time of services. Memorial cards for First United Methodist Church or Donor's Favorite Church or School Music Program will be available at the funeral home.
