Robert K. Youngstrom

Robert passed away Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at the Toni and Trish Home at the age of 91 Years. Robert was born November 3, 1927 in Blue island, Illinois to the late Axel and Dagmar Youngstrom. Robert enjoyed woodworking, drawing, going for car rides, he was a jack of all trades and had a great sense of humor. He was part of the greatest generation and served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army in World War II.

Robert is survived by his wife of 62 years, Rose Youngstrom; son, David (Michelle) Youngstrom; three grandchildren, Ashley Joyce, Andrew Robert and Abagail Rose; brothers, Roy Youngstrom and Tom (Nancy) Youngstrom; sister-in-laws, Josie Youngstrom, Kelli Youngstrom and Alice Buchnius; nine nieces and nephews, Mike Youngstrom, Patricia Youngstrom Ramthun, Carl Youngstrom, Steve Youngstrom, Joan Gerwig, Scott Youngstrom, John Youngstrom, Monica DuMont and Brad Youngstrom. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his three brothers, Howard Youngstrom, Clifford Youngstrom and Ervin Youngstrom.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to, the Toni and Trish Home, McLaren Bay Region, Bay Special Care and Bay Shores Nursing Home for their care and compassion.

Per Robert's wishes cremation has taken place and a memorial service will take place at a later day at Hart Cemetery. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider donations to the Toni and Trish Home or the charity of their choice.
