Evans, Ronald "Ron" Bay City, Michigan Ron passed away Monday evening, August 24, 2015, after a six month battle with brain cancer, at McLaren Bay Region. Age 72 years. The son of the late Robert and Sarah (Morgan) Evans was born April 7, 1943 in Bay City. Ron was a member of Faith Lutheran Church. He retired as a truck driver and was a member of the Teamsters Local # 486 and was the Union Steward for many years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, helping those in his community, traveling, bicycling, learning how to use new technology, and the occasional trip to the casino. Left behind to cherish Ron's memory are his wife, the former Barbara Jedele whom he married August 15, 1964, his children and their spouses; Kelly and Robert Shenton, Jill and Chuck Smith, Steve Evans and Gigi Buffington, Rachel and Lee Williams, his grandchildren; Allison and Hannah Shenton, Skyelar and Steele Smith, Delaney Williams and an expected grandchild, two brothers; Richard Evans, his twin, and Robert Evans, one brother-in-law; Joe McGivern. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by the following family members; Muriel (Carl) Kay, Olwen (Toby) Musser, Ruth (John) Drotos, Beatrice McGivern, Sue Evans and Evy Evans. At the request of Ron cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will take place Saturday, August 29, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church. Officiating will be Rev. Daniel C. Meckes and Rev. Matt Hall with private inurnment in Elm Lawn Cemetery. The family will be present at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Friday to receive family and friends from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
