Ronald S. Utter

Ron passed away on Monday morning, February 12, 2018 at Bay Shores Nursing Care Center at the age of 83 years. Ron was born on January 15, 1935 to the late Silver and Bertha (Schoen) Utter in Saginaw, Michigan. He married the former Elaine Sampier on August 1, 1953 in Pontiac, Michigan. He worked for General Motors Bay City Powertrain for 42 years and retired in 1996. Ron was a member of Bay Valley Christian Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, gardening and all outdoor activities. He also enjoyed road trips up north and walking at the Bay City State Park.
Ron is survived by his wife, Elaine; children, Cynthia (Terrell) Durden and Jami (Michael) Wilhelm; grandchildren, Kristi (Patrick Stope) Kolka, Heather (Timothy) Ramos and Michelle Wilhelm and fiancé Beau Brennan; great grandchildren, Gavin Gerard, Briella Ramos and Aiden Strope; thought of as a special part of the family, Zachary Gerard; two nephews and a niece. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Utter and sister, Janice Utter.
Funeral service will take place at the Gephart funeral Home, Inc. on Thursday at 12:00 Noon. Officiating will be Pastor David S. Ferranti with private burial in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
