Rosemary Shaneberger

Rosemary Shaneberger, of Bay City, passed away Saturday, May 21, 2011 at Bay Regional Medical Center. Age 79 years. She was born August 17, 1931 in Akron Township, MI. She was a former member of Zion Lutheran Church in Bay City, she enjoyed crocheting, knitting, crafts, antiquing, going to the flea markets, reading and especially spending time with her grandchildren. Rosemary is survived by five children; Patricia L. Reiss of Bay City, Paul V. Potrafka of St. Louis, MI, Peggy L. (Michael) Walkowiak of Midland, Louis M. Potrafka and Pamela L. Collier both of Denison, TX , her daughter-in-law; Carol Purdy-Stewart of CO, 12 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister and five brothers; Delores Ludwig of Bay City, Oscar (Judy) DeSimpelaere of Linwood, Marc (Florence) DeSimpelaere of Northville Twp., MI, Clarence Pelton of Crump, Richard Pelton of Bay City and Larry Pelton of Bay City and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; Victor and Susania (Collins) DeSimpelaere and one son Gary D. Purdy. At the request of Rosemary, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will take place at 11:00am on Friday June 10, 2011 at the Gephart Funeral Home. Officiating will be Rev. William H. Allwardt. Friends may visit with the family from 9:00am until time of service.
