Mr. Bauer passed away Friday morning, September 26, 2014 at Saginaw Senior Care and Rehab. age 79 years. The son of the late Raymond and Anna (Lutz) Bauer was born April 9, 1935 in Bay City. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church of Amelith and sang in the choir for many years. He retired from Wobig Construction as a carpenter and was a member of the Carpenters Local #706. He enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 58 years, the former Eunice F. Kloha, his children and their spouses; Peggy Herbolsheimer, Gail and Ron Campbell, Curtis and Ruther Bauer and Nancy Bauer, five grandchildren; Scott and Judy Herbolsheimer, Susan and David Meier, Brian and Molly Herbolsheimer, Courtney and Ryan Young, Carissa and Matt Gorris, seven great-grandchildren, two sisters; and one brother-in law; Marlene Lambert and Irene and Ernie Gradowski, his sister-in-law and brother-in-law; Joann and Tom Anderson. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his son-in-law; Philip Herbolsheimer, his sister-in-law and brother-in-law; Phyllis and Richard Brinkman. Funeral Services will take place Monday, September 29, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church of Amelith. Officiating will be Rev. Stephen P. Starke followed by the graveside committal in the Church Cemetery. The family will be present at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Sunday to receive family and friends from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. Mr. Bauer will be taken to the church on Monday to lie in state from 10:00 a.m. until the time services. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John Lutheran Church of Amelith.
