Mr. Roy W. Majeske, of Bay City, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday morning, September 17, 2015 at McLaren Bay Region, age 76. The son of the late Gustav and Anna (Walter) Majeske, he was born on July 18, 1939 in New Lothrop, Michigan. Roy was an active member of Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church. He retired in 1993 as a police officer from the Bay City Police Department and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police #103. Roy was also a part time bus driver since 1977, and was currently driving with Blue Lakes Charters.
On August 15, 1959 Roy married the former Janet M. Oblender and she survives his passing along with their four children, Scott (Denise) Majeske of Bay City, Patrick (Sharlene) Majeske of Livonia, Michael (Laura) Majeske of Bay City and Pamela (Paul) Kerr of Saginaw; six grandchildren, Ryan (Channing) Majeske, Katelyn Majeske, Courtney (Chandler) Kitchen, Christopher (Anna) Majeske, Spencer Majeske and Kristy Kerr; two great-grandchildren, Noah and Bentley Majeske; three sisters-in-law, Marion (Douglas) Markillie, Kathleen Leppek and Dorothy (Fredrick) Nowak; and several nieces and nephews.Besides his parents, Roy was also preceded in death by his brother, Lyle Majeske; his sister, Carroll (Merlin) Heritier; mother-in-law and father-in-law; Frieda and Fred Oblender and a brother-in-law, Richard Leppek.
The Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 21, 2015 at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church, 1010 33rd St. Officiating will be Rev. Joel Pankow. Private interment will be in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Sunday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. Mr. Majeske will lie instate at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church or to Michigan Lutheran Seminary.
