Russ passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at Sheffield Bay Assisted Living in Bay City, Michigan at the age of 90. He was born on January 19, 1933 to the late George and Sadie (Tenny) Marvin in Bay City, Michigan. He was a lifelong member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, where he served on the finance committee and was an elder for years. He was involved with the El Khurafeh and drove for the Shriners Hospital. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge 0256. Russ was an avid goose, duck and pheasant hunter and enjoyed watching the wildlife outside of his window. He also liked bowling and going fishing. He loved watching his children and grandchildren’s sporting events and coached baseball for many years. He had so much love for his family and touched many lives, he will truly be missed by all.
Russ is survived by his children, Patti (Dale) Wesenick and Ellen (Michael) Lesniak; daughter-in-law, Janelle Marvin-Madziar; 7 grandchildren, Jacob (Andrea) Lesniak, Michael (Shanél) Lesniak, Amanda Marvin, Matthew (Jenny) Marvin, Alexandra (Craig) LeRoux, Megan (Brendan) Taberski and Mitchell Marvin; great grandchildren, Reese, Russell and Baby T on the way; sisters-in-law, Lori Marvin and Carol (Joe) Katsarelas and brother-in-law, Gordon (Eileen) Lange. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Marvin; son, Russell Marvin; Brother, William Marvin; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Rudolph and Helen Lange.

Funeral service for Russ will be taking place on Friday, December 8, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Westminster Presbyterian church with Military Honors to follow. A private interment will take place at Floral Gardens Cemetery. Officiating will be Pastor Jamie Milton and Pastor Linda Williams. The family will be present to receive visitors on Thursday, December 7, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Friday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. There will be a short Masonic funeral service at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial contribution to Westminster Presbyterian Church.
