Russell N. Schnell "Russ"

Schnell, Russell N. "Russ" Bay City, Michigan Russ was a great husband, wonderful dad and awesome grandfather "Papa". We will all miss him dearly. He also has a lot of wonderful friends in Bay City and Arizona, too many to count, all much loved. Mr. Schnell passed away Thursday, February 2, 2017 at the home of his son in Middleville, Michigan. Age 76 years. The son of the late Emil G. and Selene (Staudacher) Schnell was born October 17, 1940 in Bay City, Michigan. He was a member of Corpus Christi Parish-Holy Trinity Church and its Booster Club, retired from Delphi Automotive as an electrician and proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He was previously employed at Defoe Ship Building for 8 ½ years and then 5 years at American Hoist and Derrick. He is survived by his wife the former Elizabeth A. "Betty" Reuther, one daughter; Angela S. and Tim Prime, two sons; William J. and Krystal Schnell and Russell L. Schnell, five grandchildren; Max, Alex, Bristal, Brielle and Brailyn one sister and brother-in-law; Mary "Elizabeth" and Mike Wlodarczak, and one sister-in-law; Carol Schnell and his nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was also preceded in death by his step mother, Ella Schnell and one brother; Louis Schnell. The Funeral Liturgy and Rite of Committal Service will take place Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Corpus Christi Parish. Celebrant will be Rev. Fr. Robert J. Kelm with private interment in St. Patrick's Cemetery. The family will be present at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. to receive visitors on Monday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. The Vigil for the Deceased will take place Monday evening at 7:00 p.m. Mr. Schnell will be taken to the church on Tuesday to lie in state from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider a memorial to the American Cancer Society.
