Ruth Martha Forster

Forster, Ruth Martha Bay City, Michigan Mrs. Forster passed away early Wednesday morning July 16, 2014 at Bay Medical Care Facility. Age 91 years. The daughter of the late Edward and (Emma) Wegener was born May 9, 1923 in Bay County, MI and has resided here all of her life. She was a member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, the Ladies Aid, sang in the church choir and was an active member of LFA. Ruth spent many hours of her time volunteering at the Lutheran Home in Saginaw and at Bay Regional Medical Center for many years. She enjoyed baking for her family, singing, growing flowers and spending time working in her yard. She is survived by one son and one daughter-in-law; Wayne A. and Barbara Forster of Bay City, two grandchildren; Stacey Forster of Bay City and Chad and Terri Forster of Midland, five great grandchildren; Brandi, McKenzie, Arik, Riley and Bailey, two sisters; Esther Holm of Las Vegas, Nevada and Velma Mueller of Bay City, one very special niece; Edith (Ron) Wilkins of Owosso and many nieces and nephews. On May 14, 1944 she married Alvin P. Forster in Zion Lutheran Church and he preceded her in death on December 27, 2013. She was also preceded in death by one daughter; Ruth Ann Forster, two brothers-in-law; Rev. Alex Holm and Roy Mueller and one brother; Eric (Mary) Reutter. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at the Bay Medical Care Facility for their compassion and care. Funeral and Committal services will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 21, 2014 at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church. Officiating will be Rev. Paul E. Schaewe with private interment in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Sunday from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. Mrs. Forster will be taken to the church to lie in state on Monday from 10:00 a.m. and until the time of services. Memorial cards for St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church or Heartland Hospice will be available at the funeral home and at the church.
