Ruth E. Jarvis

Ruth passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at the age of 96 with her family by her side. Ruth was born in Owendale on August 17, 1922 to the late Frank and Mamie (Ross) Choate. She was a member of Fremont Methodist Church for many years. Ruth married Richard Jarvis in Texas on October 2, 1943 and he preceded her in death on June 28, 2000. She worked for Straits Aggregate and Brennan Marina for many years as a secretary. She loved to play cards, woodworking and sing in the choir.
Ruth is survived by her daughter, Susan (Arthur Schuhmacher Jr.) Jaeger; grandchildren, Russell (Terri) Vittitow, Amy (Darrell) Everman and Mindy (Brad) Radcliff; great grandchildren, Sara (Blaise) LaPrad, Brandon (fiance Karleigh Madaj) Vittitow, Kelsey Vittitow, Tyler (Amanda) Vittitow, Amber (Joe) Mahar, Lucy and Abby Radcliff; great great grandchildren, Charlotte LaPrad, Jaxson, Joslynne and Bryla Mahar; niece, Janice (Chuck) Shanlian and nephew, Dean (Carol) Ellicott. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her sister, Ruby (Albert) Ellicott; brother, Manny and niece, Ruth Marie Ellicott.
Funeral and committal service will take place at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, April 12, 2019 at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be Rev. Joseph Atchinson with private burial in Elm Lawn Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family at the Gephart Funeral Home on Friday from 12:00 noon until the time of the service.
