Sally A. (Connell) Allen

Mrs. Allen passed away on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at McLaren Bay Region. Age 77 years. The daughter of the late Edsel D. and Fern J.E. (McKenzie) Connell was born September 23, 1940 in Detroit, Michigan. Mrs. Allen was a longtime softball, basketball and volleyball coach at John Glenn High School. She enjoyed traveling with her family and friends, photography, knitting and quilting.

Mrs. Allen is survived by three children, Kim (Kris) Carey, Kameron (Chris) Allen and Keith Allen and his bride, Pamela; seven grandchildren, Kyle (Jillian) Carey, Jon Hurrell, Emily Hurrell, McKenzie Allen, Grace Allen, Robert Thomas and Jessica Bertallian; brother-in-law, Donald (Nanette) Allen; sister-in-law, Virginia Connell and nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, William Allen and her brother, Edsel "Beau" Connell.

Funeral and Committal services will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. with private interment following in Heavenly Rest Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Friday from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial cards for the John Glenn Booster Club will be available at the funeral home.
