Sally J. Martin

Sally passed away on Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at Covenant HealthCare – Harrison at the age of 73. The daughter of the late Raymond and Thelma (Dean) Burke was born November 20, 1949 in Bay City, Michigan. Sally was retired from Michigan Sugar after 30 years of service, she enjoyed camping in her teeny-tiny trailer with her best friend of 50 years, Carol Dufresne, crocheting blankets for the babies in the NICU, collecting money and donating to charity and going to the casino with her friend, Keven Pfenninger. Sally was a prolific writer who had five unpublished novels.

Sally is survived by her three children, Dr. Scott (Dr. Alison Mcelhone) Martin, Greg (Nicole) Martin and Julie Lyle and her fiancé, Steve Marks; many grandchildren and one great grandchild; two brothers, Bob (Cyndy) Burke and Don (Robbie) Burke; two sisters, Linda (Marty) Crane and Sandy (Mark) Stickler and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will take place at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, March 3, 2023 at the Gephart Funeral Home. Officiating will be Charles Campbell. Visitation will take place at the funeral home on Friday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers memorial cards for the Bay County Humane Society will be available at the funeral home.
