Mr. Ruegsegger passed away on Sunday, February 3, 2019 at McLaren Bay Region. Age 74 years. The son of the late Samuel and Blanche (Tepple) Ruegsegger was born February 29, 1944 in West Branch, Michigan. Mr. Ruegsegger served in the U.S. Army in the artillery division and was retired from Consumers Power after 35 years of service. He enjoyed woodworking, masonry work, yardwork, poker and bowling.
Mr. Ruegsegger is survived his wife of 35 years, Judy A. Ruegsegger; six children, Sammy (Sue) Ruegsegger, Jodi (Greg) Fagan, Andrew (Tracey) Strope, Paul Strope, Jennifer Strope and Matt Strope; seven grandchildren, Matthew (Karissa) Kartes, Michael (Jennifer) Kartes, Katelyn (Daniel) Dearmond, Alyssa Kartes, Noah Ruegsegger, Ben Ruegsegger and Paige Ruegsegger; four great grandchildren; three sisters, Jean Kartes, Judy (Butch) Painter and Janet (Jerry) Norton; four brothers, Hugh (Virginia) Ruegsegger, Marty (Judy) Ruegsegger, Mike (Jan) Ruegsegger and Pat (Terry) Ruegsegger. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by two sisters, Catherine Winter and Doris Wood.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at McLaren Bay Region for their compassion and care that they gave to Samuel.
At the request of Mr. Ruegsegger cremation has taken place and there will be no services at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to McLaren Bay Region.
