He was born December 3, 1972, in Bay City. He graduated from John Glenn High School in 1991 and attended Michigan Technological University, graduating with honors. He was a very distinguished and meticulous Environmental Engineer. Scott began his career with General Motors/Delphi in Fitzgerald, Georgia, where he worked for 10 years. He also was employed by Waste Management, Dow Chemical and most recently by 3M Corporation in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. Scott was involved in many organizations, including the Jaycees in Tifton, Georgia, and the volunteer fire department in Eastman, Wisconsin. Scott was preceded in death by grandparents Genevieve (Hudak) and Charles LaCross of Cheboygan and Jean (Yageman) and George Maurer of Harbor Beach. Scott had a great love of God's nature and the outdoors. He loved watching fawns frolic on his land and eat apples from the trees. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and liked competing with his family and friends to see who could catch the most fish. One of Scott's true passions in life was his artwork, including sketches, paintings, and carvings. His artwork often featured landscapes and wildlife. Scott was a photographer and took pictures for weddings and special occasions. He enjoyed cooking, and friends believed he made the best fish in Wisconsin. Scott will be remembered for not just his accomplishments but also for the twinkle in his eyes, his huge smile and generous heart. His kind and outgoing spirit drew families to consider him one of their own. He was loving and caring to children, teaching them how to draw and how to fish. He had a special love for his nephew, Steven, and niece, Marisa. If anyone ever needed a helping hand, Scott was there.
