Sherry L. Hecox

Hecox, Sherry L. Bay City, Michigan passed away Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at her residence. Age 72 years. She was born to the late Russell and Marcella (Turmell) Richardson on September 2, 1939 in Bay City and has resided here all of her life. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and was formerly employed at the Bay Area Family Y as an administrative assistant. She is survived by seven children; Matt (Renee) Witzke, Linda (Bill) Vanaman, Scott (Wanda) Witzke, Timothy Witzke, Jill (Kurt) Heyman, Jackie (Robert) Engelhardt and Todd (Deb) Hecox, eleven grandchildren; Russell, Alex, Daniel, Jessica, Jennifer, Rebecca, Kara, Jonathan, Katelyn, Megan and Molly, her brothers and sisters; Karen Kuch, John (Rita) Richardson, Thomas (Kathy) Richardson, Gail (Mike) O'Leary and Anna (John) Hebert and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother-in-law; James Kuch. The Hecox family would like to extend a special thank you to Mid-Michigan Hospice, especially Carol and Kathy for the kind and compassionate care they extended to their mother during the time they cared for her. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Saturday, September 10, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Celebrant will be Rev. Fr. Robert S. Gohm. At the request of Sherry cremation will take place and there will be no visitation at the Gephart Funeral Home and Cremation Services. The family will be present at the church on Saturday to receive visitors from 9:00 a.m. and until the time of service. Memorial cards for Holy Trinity Catholic Church or Mid-Michigan Hospice will be available.
