Shirley Ann Begick

Shirley passed away on Friday evening, December 8, 2017 at Bay City Comfort Care with her family by her side at the age of 78 years. Shirley was born on September 4, 1939 to the late Lawrence and Norma (Itter) Arnold. She married Vic Begick on November 2, 1957 in Bay City. Shirley was a member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church. As a stay at home mom, Shirley took great pride in her family and always had an open door for many children that needed to be cared for. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and also was an animal rescuer to cats and dogs. She had many hobbies including bowling, woodworking, crafts, ceramics and decorative painting. She also enjoyed sitting with dad watching the Detroit Tigers.
Surviving is her husband, Vic; children, Douglas (Julie) Begick, Manny Begick (Jeana Dreps), Darby (Mark) Perkins, Kelly (Fred) Haas and Ryanne Lipinski; grandchildren, Nicholas, Benjamin, Christopher, Magdalen, Andrea, Drew, Michael (Kristin) and Katy; great granddaughters, Alexandria and Emily Haas; brother, Larry Jr. (Joyce) Arnold; sister, Lonnie Dubay; many nieces and nephews including her special niece, Shelly Fabiano and her sister-in-law, Vera Begick. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her sister, Karen Willett.
At the request of Mrs. Begick cremation has taken place, a memorial service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 14, 2017 at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church. Officiating will be Rev. Paul E. Schaewe. Friends may visit with the family at the church on Thursday from 12:00 Noon until the time of the service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to make a memorial contribution to St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church General Fund or the Alzheimer's Association.
