Shirley M. Johnston

Shirley M. Johnston, of Bay City, passed away Monday evening, April 29, 2013 at McLaren Bay Region, age 86. She was born March 2, 1927 in Bay City where she has lived all her life. Shirley was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Throughout her life she enjoyed spending time with her family. Shirley is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, John and Pam Johnston; three grandchildren, Kelly and Zac VanWagner, Keegan and Chris Chapman, and Keith Johnston; her three great-grandchildren whom she loved dearly, McKenna VanWagner, Rowan and Rori Chapman; her beloved sister, Kay Voisine; and a brother-in-law, Jack Schmerheim of Saginaw; and also several special nieces and nephews. Shirley was preceded in death by her loving husband, Calvin 'Cal' Johnston; her parents, Raymond and Hazel Voisine; a sister, Garnetta Couture; and a brother, Mike Pilon. The family would like to thank Michelle and Jim Richardson for their continuing love and support. It was Shirley's desire for cremation to take place and no services or visitation is planned.
