Shirley G. Obermiller

Obermiller, Shirley G. Bay City, Michigan Mrs. Obermiller passed away Monday, April 9, 2012 at Brian's House. Age 79 years. The daughter of the late Charles and Wanda (Ward) Smith was born March 23, 1933 in Saginaw, MI. She was a member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church. Mrs. Obermiller retired from General Motors Saginaw Division. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, puzzles, crossword puzzles and watching television. She is survived by her husband; James W. Obermiller whom she married January 10, 1970 in St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church. Also surviving are two sisters; Lucille Hardy and Helen Carley, three brothers and two sisters-in-law; Charles Smith, Jerold and Marylyn Smith and Paul and Patricia Smith, her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; Betty Hennard, Marlene and Paul Chriss, Robert and Marilyn Obermiller, Tom and Diane Obermiller, Arlene Obermiller and Leonard Jeske, several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her sister; Marie Weiss, her brothers; Leo and Robert Smith, her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Peter Hennard, Waldo and Joyce Mossner, Ralph and Shirley Bernreuter, Joann Jeske, Gerald Obermiller and Arlin Obermiller. Funeral Services will take place Friday, April 13, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church. Officiating will be Rev. Paul E. Schaewe with interment following in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Thursday from 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. Mrs. Obermiller will be taken to the church on Friday to lie in state from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
