Shirley A. Rank

Rank, Shirley A. Essexville, Michigan Mrs. Rank passed away Friday, August 17, 2012 at her residence. Age 83 years. She was born March 21, 1929 in Bay City, Michigan. Shirley was a volunteer at the Bay Medical Center gift shop, was active with the Masonic Lodge through her husband and enjoyed reading, crocheting, knitting, gardening and watching movies. Shirley is survived by her children, Rick (Linda) Essex, Susan (Hubert) Stoffel and Jill Rank (Jeff Vink); Grandchildren, Kris Waterman, Beth Essex, Patrick Essex, Sabine Bryant, Christopher Stoffel, Cristen Lipinski, Shannon Lipinski and Lindsey Lipinski; great grandchildren, Katelyn, Michael, Matthew, Samantha, Kenzie, McKenzie and Morgan; one brother, Jack (Alice) Rivet; two sisters, Barbara (Harley) Jaynes and Judy (Ted) VanWert, many nieces and nephews and her best friend from childhood, Betty (Ernie) Lemay. Mrs. Rank was preceded in death by her husband, the love of her life, William C. Rank; mother, Lois (Sheehan) Gary; step father, Frank Greeley, whom she was raised by and her father, Lawrence Rivet. At the request of Mrs. Rank cremation has taken place. A memorial service will take place at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be Rev. David L. Dunn. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. and until the time of services. Memorials for McLaren Visiting Nurse and Hospice will be available at the funeral home.
