Stanley Scott Mistura, born February 3rd, 1963 (57), passed away on Thursday, October 15th, 2020. He was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend. It is a cliché to say someone's smile lit up a room, but in Stan's case, it was true. His smile was contagious. He loved to laugh and share his most ridiculous stories with anyone who would listen. He was a child at heart, always prepared to recommend the best Disney films, talk about comic books (Superman was his favorite), or discuss his favorite cartoons. He loved spending time outdoors and soaking up the serenity that nature offered. When he couldn't go camping, which he loved to do with his eldest child, he would spend his time landscaping. He could turn any yard into an oasis if you gave him enough time. He had the amazing talent of being able to make people laugh even during tense situations. Beyond that, his compassion was unmatched. He had the uncanny ability to make people feel less alone, no matter what they were going through. He was a giver throughout his entire life, even while battling a particularly aggressive form of cancer. He always put the needs of others before his own.
Stan was preceded in death by his parents, Louis Sr. and Shirley Mistura. He is survived by two daughters, Jessica Smith and Gina Mistura, one granddaughter, Kelsea Smith, two brothers, Louis Jr. and Rick Mistura, one sister, Julie Mistura, his fiancée, Joy Bishop, and several other family members who all thought the world of him. Stan's remains will be cremated, per his wishes. The memorial service will be held at In His Presence Ministries, 4521 Monitor Rd, Bay City, MI. 48706, on Saturday, October 24th, 2020 at 1:00 PM for anyone who would like to join the family in remembering the phenomenal man that Stan was.
