Steven F. Depa

Mr. Steven F. Depa, of Port Hope, MI,  passed away Monday, April 6, 2015 at Bay Special Care Hospital at the age of 66 years. The son of the late Steve and Stella "Wanda" (Lewandowski) Depa was born March 12, 1949 in Detroit, Michigan. He retired from General Motors Powertrain Warren, MI plant as a pipe fitter. Steven proudly served his Country in the United States Navy from June 5, 1967 to February 19, 1971. He was a life member of VVA Chapter #9, the VFW Post #6750 in Center Line, MI and was a member of the U.A.W.On July 31, 1969 he married his loving wife of forty five years the former Linda Ann Szczepanski and she is left to cherish his memories along with one son; Steven D. Depa of Warren, MI, one brother and two sisters-in-laws; Anthony and Sandra Depa of GA and Diane Szczepanski of Chesterfield, MI, one brother-in-law; Frank Szczepanski of Algonac, MI, many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and his dearly beloved Vietnam Veteran Brothers. Besides his parents Steve and Stella he was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law; Walter and Veronica Szczepanski. A Memorial Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at St. Mark Catholic Church, 4401 Bart St., Warren, MI.  The Celebrant will be Rev. Fr. Stanley Obloj.  A reception will follow at the V.F.W. Post #6756, 25500 Sherwood, Warren, MI with Military Honors conducted by the U.S. Navy and the V.F.W.  For those who so desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project. www.gephartfuneralhome.com
