Steven C. White

White, Steven C. "Steve" Kawkawlin, Michigan Steve passed away Monday evening, October 7, 2013 at McLaren Bay Region at the age of 62 years. The son of the late Ned O. and Helen (Mitchell) White was born May 13, 1951 in Ionia, MI. Steve was a proud member of Peoples Baptist Church. Steve worked as a Paramedic/EMT, and at Myers-Roetman Funeral Home in Ionia. He then went on to work as a police officer for the city of Ionia, left that position to take a job on the Hampton Township Police Dept., he then went on to work and retired as a deputy sheriff for Bay County. Steve was an Eagle Scout, an avid Michigan State Fan and enjoyed being with his family and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife; Barbara J. (Dobson) White whom he married October 21, 1989, his children; Laura (Michael) Harrington, Zack (Audrey) White, Shawn White, Josette( Aaron) Smith, Alana (Peter) Nixon and Alisha Greengrass, his grandchildren; Dakota, Kenneth, Peter, Paige, Alex, Mikey, Bella, Xaiden, Alexander and Tristen, his step-father; Donald Mitchell, step-mother; Mary White, his sisters; Susan (Philip) Gillespie and Jodi White, his half-brother; Allan White and eight step-brothers and step-sisters. In addition to his parents he was precede in death by his nephew; Trevor J. Gillespie. Funeral Services will take place on Thursday, October 10, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. at Peoples Baptist Church. Officiating will be Pastor Daniel Hester. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Wednesday from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Steve will be taken to the church on Thursday to lie in state from 3:00 p.m. until the time of services.
