Susan Marie Leinberger

Susan went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor at the age of 60. She was born to Louis Leinberger and Marian (Grow) Leinberger-Kernstock on March 31, 1964 in Bay City, Michigan. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Frankenlust and was very active in Friendship Circle and Ladies Aide. She also attended St. Johns Lutheran Church in Pinconning and sang in the choir there as well. Susan was a Nanny in Pennsylvania for 26 years, until she moved home and worked for McGregor Elementary School as a Teacher’s Aide for 3 years. She was outspoken, willing to help anyone and truly had a heart of gold.

Susan is survived by her mother, Marian Kernstock; brother, Brian (Donna) Leinberger; step-brother’s, Al Kernstock, Steve Kernstock, and Terry Kernstock; step-sister, Sherry (Ron) Mowery; nephew, Cory (Kimberly) Leinberger and several cousins and many close friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Louis Leinberger and step-father, Clarence Kernstock.

Memorial Service for Susan will be taking place on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Frankenlust with inurnment to follow at St. Paul Cemetery. Officiating will be Pastor Dennis Matyas. The family will be present for visitors at the Church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. If you would like to wear purple in honor of Susan, but not a requirement when attending the Memorial Service. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, St. Johns Lutheran Church in Pinconning or a charity of your choice.
