Our beloved mother, grandmother and sister, Susan passed away to her eternal rest on February 21, 2010 at Bay Regional Medical Center, age 59. She was born to the late Beatrice Doud on May 12, 1950 in Beaver Twp.Susan is survived by her loving daughter, Melissa Alex & Scott Halm of Freeland and their children, Austin, Zackery, Autumn, Anna and Kari; step-daughters, Brenda (David) Rolla of Tennessee and Stephanie (Tony) Martin and Tracy (Willis) Szenay both of Carrollton; step-grandchildren, Capri, Amanda, Amber, Faith, Savanna, Kayleah, Amber and Heather; her sister, Dolores Lovely of Auburn; brother, Raymond (Norma) Doud of Midland; several nieces & nephews who loved their Aunt Sue dearly; and her friends & neighbors who helped her and made her days here happy. Besides her mother, Susan was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Eugene Alex; two sisters and three brothers.The family would like to thank Susan's caretakers, Cindy LaPlant and Mary Ann Galindo for all the extra care they gave her during her illness and also to Bay Shores Nursing Home, Bay Regional Medical Center and Regional Dialysis Services and to Dr. Joseph for everything they did for Susan.At the request of Susan, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will take place 1:00pm on Saturday February 27, 2010 at the Gephart Funeral Home. Officiating will be Rev. Joseph Atchinson. Friends may gather with the family on Saturday from 11:00am until time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Diabetes Action Research & Education Foundation, American Heart Association or the American Kidney Fund.
