Suzanne Kay Adamcik

It is with deep sadness but yet great joy to announce our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Suzanne “Sue” Adamcik, age 85, has shed her ailing human body and passed onto her new life with Christ Jesus on December 1, 2024, with her family by her side.

Sue was born November 15, 1939, to William and Esther Gromaski in Bay City, Michigan. On December 27, 1958, she married Frank Adamcik Jr. who predeceased her in 2011.

Sue worked many years at her father’s fruit market, Pear Grove, as well as a variety of other jobs, including a home health aide, caring lovingly for the disabled, and until just a couple years ago, handing out samples at Costco, where her love of shopping and socializing joyfully intersected.

Sue was happiest when surrounded by family or friends, hosting gatherings for every occasion where she would take pleasure in baking and cooking old favorites and newly found recipes. Sue had a great sense of humor, and a wonderful circle of friends who can attest Sue was the life of the party!

Left to cherish Sue’s beautiful life are her daughters, Anita (Kurt) Whitney of Midland, Angela (Bryon) Hacker of Quanicassee, Catherine Adamcik of Scottville, Christina (Rick Myers) Adamcik of Ludington, Janelle (Jason) Redmond of Auburn; and son, Mark of California; as well as seven grandchildren, E.J. (Melissa) Nogaski, Alyssa Nogaski, Kirsten (Joe) Swain, Nalani (Joe Vacek) Duarte, Hannah (Alex) Lee, Tyler (Reigan Bellor) Adamcik, and Madelyn Redmond, along with five great-grandchildren, Sulia, Vera, Hunter, Jensen and Wyatt. Sue is also survived by brothers Ron Gromaski and Jim (Lynn) Gromaski, many nieces, nephews and cousins, as well as her beloved extended Adamcik family. In addition to her parents and husband, Sue was predeceased by her sister, Cynthia Gromaski, sister-in-law, Betty Gromaski, and brothers-in-law, Richard Adamcik and Tom Middleton.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, December 7, 2024, from St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Auburn where she was a faithful member all her life. Fr. Marc Hopps will officiate, with cremation to follow. Sue’s family will receive visitors at 9:30am prior to the funeral Mass at 11:00am.

Sue’s family would like to express their deepest thanks to Heartland Hospice Care Team for the care and comfort provided in these last few weeks.

In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider St. Gabriel Parish, or the Toni and Trish House where Sue had shared her many gifts working as a volunteer.
