Suzanne Garson Whitney

Suzanne Garson Whitney, of Bay City, Michigan went to be with her Lord on Saturday, September 17, 2011 at her home. Loving wife, mother and grandmother passed away peacefully at the age of sixty years with her family at her side. She was born August 28, 1951 in Jackson, Michigan and has resided in Bay City/Essexville all of her life. She loved to garden, antique, travel and spend time with family and friends. Her laughter, smile and strength will be greatly missed by all that had the honor of knowing her. She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Jacquiline (Southwick) Garson and her father-in-law; Glen Whitney Jr. She leaves behind her husband Derryl Whitney, one daughter and son-in-law; Taylor and Leroy Martinez, two grandchildren; Adrienna and Diomante Martinez, one sister; Kathryn (Mike) Stegman, one brother; Kent (Susan) Garson, her mother-in-law and father-in-law; Norma and Bill Cobb, brother-in-law ; Keith (Shelly) Whitney and several very special nieces and nephews; Alexis and Scott Stegman, Shawn Garson and Nick Whitney. Funeral Services will take place Thursday, September 22, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at the Gephart Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc. Officiating will be Rev. Joseph Atchinson with interment following in Elm Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. and until the time of services. Memorial cards for the wishes of the family will be available at the funeral home.
