Tammy Ann Ramon, of Saginaw, passed away suddenly on Saturday, July 5, 2014 at her residence, age 48. She was born on September 30, 1965 in Bay City. Tammy graduated from T.L. Handy High School. She went on to receive her associate degree from Delta College, a bachelor degree from Ferris State University and a master's degree from SVSU. Tammy worked as an RN for 18 years at Covenant HealthCare in Saginaw in their critical care unit and also in the education department. For the last five years, Tammy has been a nursing instructor at Delta College. She is a member of the American Nurse Association and the Michigan Nurse Association. Tammy was active locally with NA and has always been very loving and positive with the members of NA. Her true passion in life has always been to teach others at any level, especially in nursing. Tammy was known as a tough but fair teacher and always made herself available to her students. She had a thirst for knowledge and was an avid reader. In her spare time she enjoyed collecting angels. Tammy is survived by her parents, Thomas & Sharon (Narlock) Schalk of Bay City; her two children, Autum (Marcio) Vargas of Saginaw and Travis Ramon of Freeland and their father, Noble Ramon also of Freeland; a brother, Marc Schalk of Bay City; and her nephew, Brandon Schalk of Bay City. Tammy was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas E. Schalk, II. A Celebration of Life Service led by Tammy's family will take place at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 12, 2014 at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
