Theo A. Hawkins

HAWKINS, Theo A. of Bay City, Michigan. Theo Hawkins passed away Sunday, February 14, 2010 at her home, age 94 years. The daughter of the late William Earl and Ethel Victoria (Frank) Preston was born March 7, 1915 in Tawas, Michigan. Theo was a member of Community of Christ Church. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and playing dominos. Theo loved spending time with her family, church family and those people who helped her get around. Theo Hawkins is survived by one brother, Glenn W. (Estelle) Preston; one sister, Lois E. Overmier; one brother-in-law, Eugene (Martha) Hawkins; one special son, Don (Shelly) Nielson; one special friend, Gwen (Ed) Commire and many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents Theo was also preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Hawkins, Jr.; one son, Ronald Hawkins; three brothers: Robert M., Harold R. and Melvin D. Preston; one sister, Betty J. Sheffer. Funeral and Committal services will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 19, 2010 at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be Elder Donald J. Nielson with private interment in Oak Ridge Cemetery. A private family visitation will take place on Thursday from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. and until the time of services.
