Kochanny, Theodore L. "Ted" Bay City, Michigan Our loving husband, father and grandfather passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at his home with his loving wife by his side. Age 82 years. The son of the late Harry and Hazel (Chambers) Kochanny was born November 12, 1933 in Bay City and has resided here all of his life. He was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Parish-St. Vincent de Paul Church, Ted Graduated from St. Mary's Catholic High School and the proudly served his country in the United States Army. He retired from General Motors Co. in Saginaw as an electrician, was a member of the Crump Fox Club, was an avid hunter, enjoyed a good game of golf and most of all he loved the time he spent with his family. On May 8. 1954 he married his high school sweetheart the former Nancy Pettigrew and she is left to cherish his memories along with four children and their spouses; Kelly and Mike Charbonneau of Linwood, Kristy and Ed King of Midland, Lee and Larry Green of Saginaw and Ted Jr. and Debby Kochanny of Bay City, eight grandchildren; Margaret (Linda) Charbonneau, Michael (Rachel) Charbonneau, Jessica (Jose) Wood, Kevin (Kari Hiltz) Wood, Jennifer (Ben) Phillips, Jeffrey Burnett, Angela (Nate) McDonald and Malory Kochanny, nine great grandchildren, two brothers and one sister-in-law; Robert Kochanny and William and Joy Kochanny of Bay City, three sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law; Lionel and Carole Pettigrew of Florida, Michael and Barbara Pettigrew of Essexville and Carol Maples of Bay City and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents Harry and Hazel he was preceded in death by one sister Rosemary Bothe and two brothers and two sisters-in-laws; Ron and Jean Kochanny, Edward Kochanny and Barbara Kochanny, his in-laws; Leo and Margaret Pettigrew and one brother-in-law; Wilfred Pettigrew. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated Thursday, June 23, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Parish-St. Vincent de Paul Church 2956 E. N. Union Road. Rev. John E. Sarge and Sister Virginia Scally, SNDdeN will Officiate over the Funeral Rites with the Rite of Committal following in Calvary Cemetery under the Auspices of the United States Army and the Bay County Veterans Council. The family will be present at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Wednesday to receive visitors from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. The Vigil for the Deceased will take place Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. Mr. Kochanny will be taken to the Church on Thursday to lie in state from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider a memorial to the "Wishes of the Family".
