Dean, Thomas E. Bay City, Michigan Mr. Dean passed away Thursday, January 27, 2011 at Bay Regional Medical Center. Age 70 years. Tom was born February 10, 1940 in Munger. He was a member of St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church and retired from Consumers Power Company - Gas Service Department where he was employed since 1978. Tom served with the United States Army, enjoyed bowling, golf, trips to the casino, hunting, fishing and most of all spending time with his granddaughters. He is survived by his wife of fifty two years the former Leona A. Compeau whom he married on September 27, 1958 in St. Michaels Catholic Church in Pinconning. Tom is also survived by one daughter and son-in-law; Tanya and Todd Trask of Bay City, three cherished grandchildren; Taylor, Tiarra and Trinity, his brother and sisters; Maxine (Gary) Foco of Bay City, John (Kay) Dean of Kawkawlin, Pauline (Michael) Switala of Auburn and Arlene (Jeff) Doutre of Hemlock, his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Richard (Betty) Compeau of Pinconning, Carole Gromaski of Clare, Charlotte (Leonard) Krawczyk of Flint, Mary Lee Johnston , June (Arnold) Wilson and Tina (Michael) Bergeron all of Pinconning and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; Carl and Loretta (DeWyse) Dean, three brothers; Carl, William and Robert Dean and two brothers-in-law; Bernard Gromaski and George Johnston. The Funeral Liturgy and the Rite of Committal will be celebrated Monday, January 31, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. George J. Serour and Sister Virginia Scally SNDdeN will officiate over the Funeral Rites followed by Military Honors conducted by members of the United States Army. Interment will take place in St. Michael's Cemetery in Pinconning. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Sunday from 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. The Vigil for the Deceased will take place Sunday at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Dean will be taken to the church on Monday to lie in state from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers memorial cards for St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church will be available at the funeral home.
