Thomas Nathan "Nate" Doan II

Our loving son, brother and uncle passed away on April 1, 2020 at McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey, at the age of 61 years. Nate was born August 25, 1958 in Bay City, Michigan. He was member of Mt. Hope Church in Gaylord, MI and a former member of Christian Assembly Church in Bay City, MI. Nate was a people person and he had the perfect job for that, he was a long time food service representative for Sysco. Nate has been a member of Gideon's International since March of 1991 and for the last ten years been speaking at churches for Gideon's International, he was also the president of the Otsego/Crawford/ Oscoda camp for the last ten years. He was a graduate of the Charles W. Howard Santa Claus School and was Santa for over forty years. Nate was a member of the N.R.A and enjoyed shooting and was an avid University of Michigan Fan.
Left behind to cherish his memories are his mother, Mary Ida Doan; his brothers, Jeffery and Maria Doan and James and Diane Trelewski; his nephews and nieces, Jared A. Doan, Natalie A. Doan, Christopher and Stacie Trelewski, Jennifer and Jeremy Johnson; three great nieces, Elliana, Lilyana and Alexis. He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Nathan "Nate" Doan.
At the request of Nate cremation has taken place. A private graveside service will take place with the family at Floral Gardens Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Larry Kirkpatrick. A public memorial service is being planned for the future and that will be announced when the date and time is determined.
