Mr. Hitchcock passed away Sunday, September 15, 2013 at McLaren Bay Region at the age of 88 years. The son of the late Thomas J. and Ila Hitchcock was born December 12, 1924 in East Jordan, Michigan. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. Mr. Hitchcock retired as the supervising auditor for the M.E.S.C office after 38 years of service. Mr. Hitchcock was a member of the Elks Lodge B.P.O.E. # 88 and enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family. He served his country in the U.S. Army during W.W. II. He is survived by his wife of 67 years the former Eleanor M. Beal whom he married August 21, 1946. Also surviving are one son and two daughters-in-law; Larry and Mary Hitchcock and Judy Cody, his grandchildren; Christine Albaugh, Mark Hitchcock, Jason Hitchcock, and Misty McCreary, twelve great grandchildren, one great great grandson, four step great grandchildren, one brother and sister-in-law; Leslie and Sharon Hitchcock, two sisters and two brothers-in-law; Joyce and Ron Green and Connie and Wayne Fries, several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was also predeceased by two sons; Craig and Rodney Hitchcock, two brothers; Gerald and Claude Hitchcock. Funeral Services will take place Friday, September 20, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Grace United Methodist Church (4627 S. Two Mile Rd. Bay City, MI 48706). Officiating will be Pastor Len Clevenger with interment following in Oak Ridge Cemetery followed by Military Honor's conducted by the Bay County Veterans Council. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Mr. Hitchcock will be taken to the church on Friday to lie in state from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
