Holman, Thomas W. (Formerly of Auburn) Essexville, Michigan Tom Holman passed away peacefully Monday, September 23, 2013 at McLaren Bay Region following a courageous battle of prostate cancer with his family by his side. Age 70 years. The son of the late Walter and Betty (Clark) Holman was born December 14, 1942 in Northville, MI. Tom retired from BASF as a Tech Salesman and after his retirement went to work at Homestead Hardware in Auburn, a job he truly enjoyed. Left behind to cherish his memory is his wife, the former Patricia Cody, nee Berg, whom he married October 16, 2004, three children and their spouses; Tony Holman, Trent and Rebecca Holman and Trina and Greg Marfilius, one step son; Todd Cody, seven loving grandchildren; Megan , Miranda "Andi" and Natalie Marfilius, Trevor and Gianna Holman, Lance and Roman Cody, his brothers and sisters-in-law; Edward and Twyla Holman, Henry Holman, Russell and Diane Holman, Michael Holman, Jack and Leslie Holman and Frederick and Jennifer Holman, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by an infant sister; Kaye Holman, his sister-in-law; Nancy Holman and one nephew; Russell "R.J." Holman. The family would like to extend a Thank you to the staff of C.C.U and the 3rd floor at McLaren Bay Region and Dr. Kochar for the kind and compassionate care our loved one received during his time of need. Funeral and Committal Services will take place Friday, September 27, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be his brother Michael Holman with private inurnment in Floral Gardens Cemetery. The family will be present at the funeral home on Thursday to receive family and friends from 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider donations to the Prostate Cancer Society or the donor's favorite charity.
