Thomas passed away Monday, October 9, 2017 at Brian's House at the age of 83 years. The son of the late Clayton T. and Marie (Raby) July was born on April 11, 1934 in Bay City. He was a member of Our Lady of Peace Parish-St. Mary's Church. He retired from General Motors in 1992 in Saginaw as the Personnel Director. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and was an Honorable Kentucky Colonel. Thomas was a member of K of C #414 and American Legion Post #18. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Left behind to cherish his memories are his wife the former Jeanette Helen Twardize, three children, Clayton July; Patricia (Wayne) Skinner and Cheryl (David) Conner, ten grandchildren, April (Justin), Cody, Ryan, Danielle, Tyler, Eric, Lindsay, Tiffany, Jack and Sebastian, two nephews, Joseph and Steven Freel. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Michael Freel. The Memorial Service will take place Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Peace Parish. Officiating will be Deacon Ken Kohany followed by Military Honor's conducted by the Bay County Veterans Council. Private burial will take place in Resurrection Cemetery in Standish. The family will be present at Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Tuesday to receive family and friends from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. The Vigil for the Deceased will take place Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. Thomas will be taken to the church on Wednesday to lie in state from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services.
