Mr. Luczak passed away Saturday, August 30, 2014 at the Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center in Saginaw, Michigan with his family at his side. Age 75 years. The son of the late Nicholas and Elizabeth (Whitbrodt) Luczak was born October 31, 1938 in Fisherville, Bay County, Michigan and has resided in this area all of his life. He was a member of Prince of Peace Parish - Sacred Heart Campus. Tom proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, retired as a machinist, enjoyed polka dancing, fishing, hunting and most of he cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren and his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years the former Noreen E. Reinhardt whom he married May 15, 1965 in Sacred Heart Catholic Church and she survives his passing along with three children; Joe Luczak of Lansing, Colleen Kelly and Paul Fritz of Kawkawlin and Mike and Carey Luczak of Bay City, four grandchildren; Thomas Kelly, Logan Luczak, Brad and Chelsea Fritz, two sisters, one brother, two brothers-in-law and one sisters-in-law; Joan Henning, Anne and Louie Hopfinger, one brother; Nick Luczak, Les and Maryann Reinhardt and his nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one brother; James Luczak and one sister and one brother-in-law; Evelyn and Bob Maxwell and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Clarence and Helen Reinhardt.The Luczak family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Dr. Anna Bartnik, Julie Csongradi, the Palliative Care Unit at the Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center for the kind and compassionate care they provided for Tom and his family during the time they cared for him. The Funeral Liturgy and Rite of Committal will take place Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Prince of Peace Parish - Sacred Heart Campus 2510 Fraser Rd, Kawkawlin, MI 48631. Rev. Fr. T.J. Fleming and Deacon Michael Arnold will preside, followed by Military Honors that will be conducted by the United States Air Force and the Bay County Veterans Council. Private inurnment will take place at in Calvary Cemetery in Kawkawlin. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Tuesday from 1:00 to 9:00 p.m. Deacon Michael Arnold will conduct the Vigil for the deceased Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Luczak will be taken to the church on Wednesday to lie in state from 10:00 a.m. and until the time of Mass. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider a memorial to the Palliative Care Unit at the Aleda E. Lutz Medical Center or the Toni and Trish House in Auburn.
