Thomas E. Schalk

Schalk, Thomas E. "Tom"
Bay City, Michigan

Our loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother passed away unexpectedly, Monday January 8, 2018 at his residence. The son of the late Edwin and Evelyn (Yelle) Schalk was born October 30, 1944 in Bay City and has resided here his entire life. Tom was of the Catholic Faith, served as the president of the ushers club and organized the picnics at the former St. Hyacinth Catholic Church. He retired from GM Powertrain-Bay City Plant where he was a very dedicated employee retiring after 30 years of service. Tom was a very involved individual, serving as a Cub Scout Leader, a Little League Baseball Coach and was a mascot at basketball games. In his free time he enjoyed collecting Pepsi Memorabilia and enjoyed watching Detroit Tigers Baseball. Tom will be remembered as a very dedicated person, positive, happy, but most of all he was his families ROCK.
Left behind to cherish his memories is the love of his life his wife of 53 years, the former Sharon A. Narlock whom he married September 26, 1964; his son, Marc Edwin Schalk; his grandchildren, Autum (Marcio) Vargas, Travis Ramon and Brandon Schalk; his great grandchild, Korbin Vargas; two sisters, Barb Harker and Kathy Beech. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by two children, Thomas Edwin Schalk II and Tammy Ann Schalk-Ramon; two brothers and five sisters.
At the request of Tom cremation has taken place. No services or visitation are being planned. Those planning an expression in the Memory of Tom may direct memorial contributions to the American Heart Association.
