Thomas J. Zacharko

Thomas passed away Thursday, August 16, 2018 at his residence surrounded by his family at the age of 76 years. Thomas was born on February 18, 1942 to the late George and Irene (Tacey) Zacharko. He married the former Janet Rabedioux on June 23, 1962 and spent fifty six years together. Thomas was a member of St. George Byzantine Catholic Church. He worked for Bay City Powertrain for thirty one years, retiring in 1996. He enjoyed coaching for twenty years for Northwest Little League. In his spare time he liked to paint Pysanky Easter eggs and watching the Red Wings.

Thomas is survived by his wife, Janet; daughter, Dawn (Jody) Shalashnov; son, Todd (Marife); grandsons, Aleksander and Nikolai; sister, Beverly Dieck; brother-in-law, James Rabedioux; sister-in-law, Alana Rabedioux and nephews, Bill and Brent Dieck, and Brian Rabedioux.

Funeral service will take place on Monday, August 20, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. with cremation to follow. Officiating will be Rev. Joseph Atchinson. Friends may visit with the family at the Gephart Funeral Home on Sunday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. A Parastas service (memorial service) will take place on Sunday evening at the funeral home at 6:00 p.m. with Father David A. Hannes officiating.
