Timothy D. Barkell

BARKELL, Timothy D. of Bay City, Michigan. Beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother and best friend went to be with the Lord unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 30, 2010. Age 60 years. The son of the late Walter and Kathleen (Crooks) Barkell was born April 22, 1949 in Bay City, Michigan. Timothy graduated from John Glenn High School in 1968 and was retired from Bay Metro Transit. Timothy leaves behind his wife of 32 years Linda M. (Johnson) Barkell; mother-in-law, Eleanora Johnson; children, Tracey and Robert Koehler and their children: Savannah and Hunter, Angie and Scott Larkin and their children: Morgan, Riley and Ethan, James and Shannon Brewer and their children, Talon, Dylan and Lexie, Kristie Giese and her daughter, Jessica, Tim and Theresa Barkell and their children, Emily, Austin and Anthony; brother and sister-in-law, Wally and Pat Barkell; sister and brother-in-law, Kay and Chuck Steinhaus; special nieces, nephews and many many friends. Tim was a loving and caring person who would do anything for family and friends. In addition to his parents Timothy was also preceded in death by his sister, Cynthia Ann Henderson and father-in-law, Ralph "Tom" Johnson. Your time on earth is done and you've entered heaven's gate and a new angel now has wings. A job I'll know you will do with grace as you've always been my angel on earth. They say memories are golden, well maybe that is true but I never wanted memories, I only wanted you. A million times I needed you, a million times I cried, if love alone could have saved you, you never would have died. In life I loved you dearly, in death I love you still. In my heart you hold a place no one could ever fill. But now I know you want me to remember the happy times, all the laughter we shared, along with the tears. Please shine down upon those who loved you. Look at their faces, they need you so. Give them the strength they need to move on. Let them understand that death did not part us, that you are still in our hearts. If tears could build a stairway and heartache make a lane, I'd walk the path to heaven and bring you back again. Our family chain is broken and nothing seems the same, but as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again. At the request of Mr. Barkell cremation has taken place. A memorial service is being planned for a later date
