Our loving husband, father and grandfather passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at McLaren Bay Region. Age 84 years. The son of the late Jesse and Pearl (Martin) France was born November 19, 1931 in Benham, KY. He graduated from Benham High School in 1949. Mr. France went on to serve his country for four years in the U.S. Air Force as A 1st class during the Korean Conflict. He then attended Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond, KY, and went to work for the FBI for four years as a fingerprint analyst in Washington, D.C., Tony transferred to the Post Office in Washington, D.C. in 1963 and made a final transfer to the Bay City Post Office where he retired in 1987. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and also served as an usher and trustee. Mr. France was also a member of NALC, Branch 187 Bay City and served as Past President and Vice President. His greatest joy was spending time with his children and grandchildren and attending their sporting events. Left behind to cherish his memory is his wife the former Elaine G. Neuman whom he married April 20, 1963 in Washington, D.C.; his children and their spouses, Susan and Tom Oleniacz; Dean and Lori France and Sandy and Eric Frederick; eight grandchildren, Aaron and Audrey Oleniacz; Max, Jack and Devin Frederick; Sydnee, Carter and Troy France; three sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his sisters; Frankie Yocum; Bobbie Napier and Jean France. At the request of Mr. France Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will take place Saturday, April 2, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church. Officiating will be Rev. Daniel C. Meckes and Rev. Matthew Hall. The family will be present at the church to receive family and friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
