Veitus "Al" Alfred Germain

Al passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at Crestwood Medical Center at the age of 86 years. Al was born in Bay City on April 9, 1933 to the late Veitus and Genieva (Hitchcock) Germain. He married Edwina Jacobs/Cornelius on April 25, 1978 and together them owned and operated Rainbow Boarding Kennels for 30 years. Al also worked maintenance at the Bay County Medical Care Facility. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War and was honorably discharged.
Al is survived by his wife, Edwina; children, Michael (Tracy) Germain, Connie (Tom Schielke) Loughner, Dr. Al (Bonita) Cornelius, Crystal Cornelius and Ann Cornelius; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister, Veta Germain; brothers, Wayne and Matthew Germain and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his first wife Mary Germain.
Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. with military honors under the auspices of the Bay County Veterans Council. Officiating will be Rev. Jonathan Boyer with private burial in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may visit at the Gephart Funeral Home on Friday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
