Weiler, Vernon Henry Bay City, Michigan Mr. Weiler passed away on Friday, March 31, 2017 at the Bay Medical Care Facility. Age 94 years. Mr. Weiler was born on January 7, 1923 in Munger, Michigan to the late Edward and Marge (Dean) Weiler, he had four brothers and three sisters. Vern married Loretta Genow on May 14, 1949 and she preceded him in death on April 27, 1999. He was a veteran and served his country with the U.S. Air Force during World War II. Vern retired from Roadway Trucking after 30 years of service. Vern was an avid and enthusiastic dancer, loved playing cards, watching Bay City Central football, and often traveled to the sandy beaches of Naples, FL. Mr. Weiler is survived by four children, Laura (Jim) Shoemaker, Kathy Weiler, Barbara (Alejandro) Velasquez and Michael Weiler; loving companion of 10 years, Marge Groulx; ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. In addition to his parents and his wife he was also preceded in death by two daughters, Mary Beth Weiler and Patricia (Ian) Reid. At the request of Mr. Weiler cremation has taken place. A memorial service will take place at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be Rev. Fr. Jose Maria Cabrera with private inurnment and military honors following at Floral Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services. Memorial cards for All Saints Parish will be available at the funeral home.
