Veronica M. Perz

Mrs. Perz passed away Sunday, December 4, 2016 at Huron Woods Nursing Center. Age 91 years. The daughter of the late Joseph and Oleva (Reinhardt) DeShano was born December 23, 1924 in Beaver Township. She was a member of Corpus Christi Parish-Holy Trinity Church and the Altar Sodality. She enjoyed watching Jeopardy on a daily basis, doing crafts, cooking, baking, working in her flower gardens and often supplied the tulips to the church. She is survived by two sons and two daughters-in-law, Dale J. and Gwendolyn Perz of Caro, MI; Randy J. and Denise Perz of Chesterfield, MI; her son-in-law, Paul Gwizdala; three grandchildren, Sarah (Hubert) Dobson; Rebecca (Jason) Sidders and Kelly (Brian) Chambers; four great grandchildren, Dakota and Morgan Chambers; Emmett and Reed Sidders; one sister, Geraldine Schlink;two sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law, Irene Bouckaert, Jean Perz and Sylvester Perz; as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Thomas Perz; one daughter, Cathy Gwizdala; one sister and two brothers-in-law, Mary and Lee Hartson and Frank Schlink. The family would like to extend a special Thank you to her caregivers, Sallie Nelson and Lisa Moriarty, her special friends, John and Judy Lough and a very special niece, Connie Robetoy and her husband Butch for the kind and compassionate care you provided to our loved one during her time of need. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated Friday, December 9, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Corpus Christi Parish-Holy Trinity Church. The celebrant will be Rev. Fr. Robert J. Kelm with the Rite of Committal following in Calvary Cemetery. The family will be present at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. to receive family and friends. The Vigil for the Deceased will take place Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Perz will be taken to the church on Friday to lie in state from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services.
