Veronica Mary Webster, 81, of Bay City, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 18, 2013 at the Grand Traverse Pavilions in Traverse City. Veronica was born in Liverpool, England on April 19, 1931. The summer of 1951 Veronica came to Bay City and married her sweetheart Lawrence L. Webster of Bay City, the wedding was held at Thoburn Methodist Church. They were both charter members of Christ United Methodist Church. On November 11, 1960 Veronica was presented with the Certificate of Naturalization. She was very proud to be a U.S. citizen. Veronica, or Vera, worked in the Bay City Chevrolet cafeteria from 1967 to 1972. She then worked in the Bay City G.M. Plant in 1972 and retired in February of 1988. Vera and her family enjoyed many years of camping together in their Holiday Rambler trailer club, known as "The Trav-Lin Wig-Wams" Vera was a very loving mother, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother, and a dear friend to all those that knew her. Vera is preceded in death by her husband Lawrence L. Webster, parents Catherine and Albert Standeven, brother and sister in-law Jack and Jean Standeven, sister and brother-in-law Joan and Joe Lyons, sister Patricia Standeven, brother in-law Eugene Sowinski, brother in-law Jerry Verhaeghe, grandson Brad Webster, and niece Kim Verhaeghe. She is survived by her two sons and daughter in-laws Gary & Patti Webster of Mt. Morris and Lawrence Jr. & Gretchen Webster of Pinconning, and one daughter and son in-law Cathy & Jim Dye of Traverse City. Grandchildren, Carrie Webster, Heath Webster, Gary Lee Webster, Lacie Joe Czubachowski, Kelly Webster, Veronica Webster, Christine Washer, Stacie Sparks, Sean Dye, Aaron Dye, and Courtney Dye. Also 31 Great-Grandchildren and 2 Great-Great-Grandchildren. The Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 25, 2013 at Christ United Methodist Church, 4267 S. Two Mile Rd., Bay City. Officiating will be Rev. Carol M. Blair-Bouse with interment following at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Sunday from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. Mrs. Webster will lie instate at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
