O'Connor, Vincent E. Bay City, Michigan Mr. O'Connor passed away Thursday evening, July 22, 2010 at Bay Regional Medical Center. Age 93 years. The son of the late James and Emma (Longtin) O'Connor was born July 24, 1916 in Kawkawlin. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, the ushers club, the St. Vincent de Paul Society at Holy Trinity where they named the food panrty the Vincent House in his honor, for his sixty years of service. He was a member of the Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Local # 816 and retired from Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Local #85. Mr. O'Connor was a member of Veterans of Foreign War Post #6950 and served in the U.S. Army in the Pacific during W.W. II. He is survived by his wife the former Yvonne M. Salois whom he married on August 17, 1946. Also surviving are one daughter and son-in-law; Maureen and Clifford Cook of Ann Arbor, two sons and two daughters-in-law; Michael and Patricia O'Connor of Bay City and Dennis and Jane O'Connor of Bessemer, AL, his grandchildren; Carolyn Cook, Colleen Cook, Clifford Cook, Kevin Cook, James O' Connor, Meghan O'Connor and Andrew O'Connor, one brother and three sisters-in-law; Daniel and Bea O'Connor of Venice, FL, Patricia O'Connor of Bay City and LuAnn O'Connor of Madison WI, his sisters-in-law and brother-in-law; Ruth Wackerle, Betty Salois, Helen Salois, Mary Lou Bleck, Jane Landosky and Daniel and Betty Salois. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his brothers and sister-in-law; Joseph and Odetta O'Connor, Raymond O'Connor and Lloyd O'Connor and his sister and brother-in-law; Theresa and Lloyd Pajot. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated Monday, July 26, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Concelebrating will be Rev. Fr. Robert S. Gohm and Rev. Fr. Patrick J. O'Connor with the Rite of Committal following in Calvary Cemetery followed by Military Honor's conducted by the Bay County Veterans Council. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Sunday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. The Vigil for the Deceased will take place Sunday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home followed by the V.F.W. Post #6950 ritual. Mr. O'Connor will be taken to the church on Monday to lie in state from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services. Memorial Cards for the St. Vincent de Paul Society will be available at the funeral home.
